About Me

I’m Sarah, a thirty-something infrastructure finance consultant (and spare-time cricket nut), who has taken the plunge and emigrated to Sydney after ten years living and working in London. On my own. Ulp.

But not entirely on my own and certainly not all unknown – I’m a British-Australian dual national, have spent many happy holidays in Australia, and have some fabulous family members in Sydney and New Zealand.

Before I left the UK in November 2017, I had a job lined up to start in January, a place to live for a month from them, and a two-month holiday to enjoy first while my worldly belongings made their way around the world in a ship! Rough itinerary was…

  • Tasmania (Overland Track)
  • Adelaide (Ashes test)
  • McLaren Vale
  • Kangaroo Island
  • Hamilton, NZ (family)
  • Paihia, NZ
  • Auckland, NZ (family and Christmas)
  • Melbourne (Ashes test and New Year)
  • Sydney (Ashes test and family)
  • Central Coast (family friends)

This blog is partly a travelogue to keep family and friends posted on what I’m doing and seeing, and partly to share my experience moving to a place that’s always felt like home but never been home.
